VINYL GRADING

Indian Music Store uses the Goldmine Standard for grading the condition of items listed in our store for Selling.

Mint (M)

These are the records which are absolutely perfect in every aspect. It is expected that its never been played and there is a possibility that they may be even sealed.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

A nearly perfect record with no imperfections during playback. The record will show no signs of wear. A shiny record, with no visible defects.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

These are the vinyl records which are normally worth 50% of the Near Mint value, except for RARE RECORDS. A VG+ record will exhibits few signs of being played and it was handled by its previous owner nicely. The surface of the Record is likely to exhibit few signs of wear and also possible to give little scuffs and or scratches but doesn’t bother the play. Outer sleeves and inner sleeves may have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. The outer sleeve may have slight signs of wear, and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner.

Very Good (VG)

These are the records which are normally 1/4 th of NM value. These may have some defects while playing but not bother the play or over seed the music. Surface noise is likely to be present.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)

These records will play without any skipping , but have surface noise, scratches over the surface and the grove.

Poor (P), Fair (F)

The records graded under this category are possible to be cracked, warped, and cannot play through without skipping and or repeating. The outer sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing.
