TRIVIA:

1.Produced by Shashi Kapoor, this movie was based on the 4th-century play 'Mrichchakatikam'(meaning The Little Clay Cart) written by the Sanskrit scholar Shudraka.

2.The Sanskrit play was translated into English, notably by Arthur W. Ryder in 1905 as The Little Clay Cart. It had previously been translated as The Toy Cart by Horace Hayman Wilson in 1826.

3.Rekha"s last film for film produced by Shashi Kapoor. Total she did 3 films for Shashi Kapoor"s Film-Valas, Kalyug, Vijeyta & Utsav.
