6. Mohan Films alleged that Salaam Memsaab was a rip off of the film Shoeshine Boy. Mohan Bijlani claimed he had the official remake rights to the film and not Roshan Films. Roshan Films stated that Salaam Memsaab was not a remake of Shoeshine Boy and was inspired by real life characters.
