5. Prior to the releasing of Balwaan,Sunil Shetty had formed a special friendship with photographer J.P. Singhal. Singhal would have Shetty’s pictures all over his studios. One day Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor came to shoot some publicity stills for Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja . Upon seeing Sunil Shetty’s pictures Anil stated “Looks like anyone can become a actor now. Any local wrestler can join films today”. These comments eventually made it back to Sunil Shetty. Finally one day Sunil confronted Anil and asked him what his problem was. Anil denied making these comments and stated he was misquoted. Sunil Shetty stated he was not going to remain silent any longer and would stand up for himself. A few years later Anil Kapoor’s Laadla released. There were rumors that the film was a flop. This was not true as the film was average at the box office. Anil always blamed Sunil Shetty for spreading those lies about Laadla. Anil thought Shetty had used his friendship with journalists to spread stories about Laadla flopping.
